HGO will partner with Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, some of the world’s best opera singers, and choirs from Wheeler Avenue, HGO, Houston Ebony Opera Guild, Prairie View A&M University, and Texas Southern University for this years Giving Voice. The Friday, February 24 concert of gospel, opera, and spirituals will also feature one of Joel’s choral works. Prior to the performance, Joel will work with the Giving Voice “mass choir” to bring his composition to life – providing the singers an amazing opportunity to work with a living composer.
