In Mark Buller and Charles Anthony Silvestri's retelling of The Wizard of Oz story, Dorothy and her friends are students who are gathered, warming up and going through their arias for the big school audition. Dorothy, embarrassed by a mean teacher for flirting with her crush, hides in the broom closet. She is sent to the world of Oz after getting bonked on the head by mops and brooms. Her broom closet lands on the Wicked Witch of the East, giving her evil sister a reason to hunt down Dorothy. In Oz, Dorothy sees some familiar faces and some new ones who help her defeat the Wicked Witch. After her time in Oz, Dorothy awakes back in the broom closet to discover there really is no place like home.
